"My son was one of WNFC's first students and it has been amazing. He never really had much interest or knowledge in fighting games but Grant has taught him so many useful techniques! He attended his first competition with some of the states finest and held his own. Grant's passion and eagerness to have his dojo students learn life lessons and create career paths has done wonders for my son. He attended a couple sessions this summer one being "Game Theory and Design." He is even more excited to continue to learn more about all aspects of designing video games. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with an interest in socializing with other like minded video gamers! Or with an interest to learn something new in the video game world."

"Our son has attended WNFC esports Dojo now since March 2023 when it opened. He has enjoyed being there after school a couple of times a week and over this summer at four of the camps that were run. This program gives him a great way to play games in a positive, educational environment with like minded kids and others with the same interests. Grant is developing a great program for kids from 4th grade up to enjoy the world of gaming and esports, develop their techniques, be a great team player and have a lot of fun while doing it. Thank you ~ I know he'll be back soon!"

HM

"I would highly recommend WNFC eSports Dojo to anyone with a child 4th grade and up, because it is run by an incredibly compassionate person who understands the intricacies of the style of gaming and how to best introduce and integrate kids into a situation that could result in a solid career path or potential college scholarships in eSports, which has grown immensely outside Vermont. I can’t recommend this highly enough."

JQ

"In the past our son has gone to various local camps but he often doesn’t enjoy himself. This summer he went to two of the camps at WNFC esports Dojo and had a fantastic time! It was awesome seeing him meet other kids and have fun learning and playing. Thanks Grant for offering such a cool program!"

HP

"Fantastic space for playing, learning and enjoying games with others."

LM

"Awesome local space for competitive gaming- really well set up for pretty much any fighting game you can imagine."

DP

"A great space to play and learn any fighting game (retro or modern), with a relaxed atmosphere. The locals who frequent the sessions are also knowledgeable and also add to the fun vibe of the space."

there’s a place here for you.

An Extracurricular Activity

FOR KIDS WHO ARE BUILT DIFFERENT

Not everyone clicks with traditional sports, and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have access to something that’s challenging, rewarding, and above all else, fun. If you’re  fiercely intelligent and driven to succeed, but feel that you lack a pathway to channel that passion, or simply need a peer group community to call your own, we’re here for you.

The Road To The World Stage

BEGINS IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD

At WNFC esports Dojo, our primary focus is on the genre that first popularized direct competitive play. Arcade-style versus games are the original esport. Over the last thirty years, we’ve gone from “who’s the best in the arcade” scenes surrounded by friends, to “who’s the best in the world” competitions watched by thousands of live spectators and millions of viewers around the globe. This is the world we’re ambassadors of.

Learn Skills That Go Far Beyond The Game

INTO A FUTURE FULL OF POSSIBILITIES

Colleges nationwide are adopting esports programs. We have the privilege of being partnered with Champlain College esports, one of the best collegiate esports programs in the country. We introduce dojo students to a wide array of paths for their college career, including game design, electronic hardware, webcasting, video production, software development, esports scholarships, and more. This isn’t just pressing buttons with friends after school – this can be life-altering.

We Foster Inclusion & Diversity

BECAUSE COMMUNITY IS STRENGTH

It doesn’t matter how you identify, you’re welcome here, with no limits on who can participate. You’ll be mentored by experienced instructors through a focused curriculum that meets you where you are. We place you with students near your own skill level, ensuring that your level of challenge is never too great, nor too little. You’ll also have the skills and concepts you learn re-contextualized in ways that’ll serve you throughout your life.

You gotta have a solid gameplan.

HERE’S OURS.

Initial Assessment

First, we meet you, and learn some more about you and your gaming history. After that, we run you through some light exercises in a very basic competitive video game. This is how we see where your starting point is, which allows us to map your upward trajectory.

Scheduling & Signup

Just sign up for whichever lesson days you want – Monday / Wednesday, Tuesday / Thursday, or all week long. From there, you come in, and we start guiding you on your journey towards getting good.

Work Hard, Play Hard

Each lesson, you’ll be introduced to new and expanded concepts from your trainers, and you’ll face off against other students that are near your skill level. Afterward, there will be a loopback session where we go over how and where you’ve improved!

Open Gym Fridays

Every Friday, it’s a free-for-all. You want to play against friends? Go for it. $10 gets non-students in all afternoon. Dojo students pay $5, & any guest they bring gets in at the same rate. It’s the perfect time to try out what you’ve learned. Introduce your friends to our world.

Summer Program!

Not only do we have after school on lock, but we throw the doors open for double sessions during the summer! Session A runs from 9am-1pm, and Session B runs from 2pm-6pm! Weekly themes for specific games & game types, trips to Champlain College’s esports & Game Development departments, & lots more. There’s no better way to beat the heat!

Semi-Annual Tournaments

As an extension of Wednesday Night Fight Club, Vermont’s largest fighting game weekly locals & tournament series, students from WNFC esports Dojo are 100% sponsored to enter our upcoming semiannual mini-majors, with special U-18 brackets just for kids & teens!
